Aluminum
Clamp Frame

Home

Compare These Advantages:

  • Heavy duty oversize rod
  • Big bore "Standard" Knu-Vise cylinder
  • Heavy aluminum frame
  • Quick change bail mount for cylinders
  • Optional teflon hose with press lock fitting or stainless wire braid w/ swivel fitting
  • 12" or 18" cylinder centers (vertical or horizontal)
  • Optional "BEAR CLAW" spikes

FRAME LENGTH

Because frames grow in a heated oven, and distortions due to this growth may hamper the opening and closing of the frames we suggest that the "upper" or "top" portion of the frame be sectioned into 36" (3 CYL) max lengths.
Although our aluminum frames are one of the strongest in the industry, some applications may require you to back the frame with a thin wall steel tubing for added strength.

(Material:  6061-T6    6%-10% growth when heated, has a high tensile strength which helps prevent distortion)

Standard cylinder spacing is 12" with 18" optional.

Easy top or bottom load with a full 89 degree opening

SHEET THICKNESS

With the set up as shown to the left we feel that the maximum sheet thickness that will properly clamp will be 1/4 inch or less.
Anything more than 1/4 inch and the cylinder will have to be shimmed up approximately 1/4 to 5/16 inch at the point marked "A".
Of course sheet size will affect clamping also, a larger sheet will have its edge closer to the pivot point thereby reducing the contact point at the outer edge. (point "B")
